WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE!! Fell in love with this place the first time I went. My wife ordered the BLT which was phenomenal and I had the pulled pork sandwich, both were great. The house smoked bacon was insane and left me wanting every BLT to taste that good. We've been back twice now and the food has gradually deteriorated along with the customer service. I'm going to give this place some time before I return but very disappointed.

I'm so excited that this place opened!! I had heard a lot about the location in the keys and this place lived up to the hype. It's slightly off the beaten path; in an office building on Federal Highway in Boca. Not the healthiest menu, but oh so good. I seldom give out 5 stars, but this place earned it. A lot of items on the menu are house made; the sausages, the sauces and the burgers. We had the Chorizo patty burger with caramelized onions and a bratwurst sandwich with saurkraut, both were fantastic. The sides were also delicious; we had sweet potato tater tots with a marshmallow dipping sauce along with duck fat fries. The marshmallow sauce is a perfect complement to the sweet potato tots (think sweet potato casserole) and the duck fat fries were cooked perfectly, very crispy and they stayed that way until we finished them (which was super-fast). Also, the homemade mustard is outstanding, there is a kick to it, it may be jalapenos, but it works very well with the burgers and sausages. The beer selection is suitable; about 5-6 interesting craft beers on tap and another 20 or so by the can/bottle. Wine selection was limited, but the wines they do carry seem interesting. Good service, nice people. You gotta check this out!

This place is awesome! The duck sausage with pickled blueberry is fantastic! The pulled pork and pork rinds were great. George, Mike and Holly were all friendly and made us feel welcome. I didn't have one, but everyone was raving about the hamburgers.

Funky location in cool looking lobby of office building. Trendy booths & tables & a counter. Overpriced for the size/quality of the food & service was painfully slow for hardly any customers being there. Got the tomato, onion, parmesan, truffle salad. It was a whole, sliced tomato with maybe 3-4 thin slices of pickled onion, a little drizzle of truffle oil & grated (not good quality) cheese. My husband & I had cheeseburgers. They were good, not great...not too thick or flavorful or a great bun. My truffle fries were not truffle tasting enough for me. We'd give our burgers 5 out of 10 stars. My husband got a plain, average hotdog too. My daughter had a kids Mac & chz. Everything was ok, not great for the $65. One and done.

Ate here last night with a couple of friends, unbelievable, had in house smoked bacon, the duck sausage with blue berrys and a shallot apricot like chutney, pork skins, never had pork skins like this, they were light and fluffy and not greasy, pulled pork sandwich, split pea soup and chicken wings, the best wings I've ever had, they slow smoke them for like four hours, they have a killer glaze on them, then they sprinkle crumbled blue cheese over them, everything was off the hook, I wanted to keep ordering more food, but I'll be back, I can't wait, good beers, crazy place inside the Wells Fargo Bank building on the south east comer of Glades and Federal, you can sit like out in the lobby, nice couches, open air atmosphere, there gonna need more room when people get to knowing whats going on here. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner, I got to try it all. A satisfied blown away customer.

I was very excited to try this restaurant because of the good reviews I read. I was very disappointed. This is not a restaurant. It's a bank lobby. We ordered at the bar then sat in a booth in a bank lobby at around 5:30. We were the only people eating there and everyone that worked in the bank was getting of work walking by our table and it was really uncomfortable. When our order came to the table they brought me chicken instead of the pork I ordered. I'm not picky so I told the waitress I would just keep the chicken. My wife did like her burger but my chicken wasn't good and there was a bone in my sandwich and it was not tasty at all. When we got the bill I noticed that they charged me for a side of bbq sauce that was at the most a tablespoon. I could care less about the 50 cents but to charge someone for that is crazy! The staff was extremely nice but the location and the quality needs major improvement.

Tried this place tonight and I have to say... It was amazing!!! As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the servers and the chef! We had the boca burger and the pulled chicken sandwich the taste was impeccable. For dessert the bread pudding was to die for.. It is full of taste and melts in your mouth. Big screen TVs and a lounge area with couches if you want to relax and watch the game. This little gem is tucked away in the Wells Fargo building on federal highway.. I suggest you try it because if you don't your missing out!!!

Came on a Sunday afternoon and they have a TV with football on. There was no one in the restaurant/office space. The TV was so loud- I couldnt even hear my friend talk to me. They had lots of great beers on tap- but I was there just to eat. Ordered a Nancy Pants burger with a side of truffle fries, that was a simple cheese burger with lettuce, tomato and cheese. As an extra I ordered a slice of onion and pickles to add to the burger. They brought out their homemade ketchup and mustard that had some different flavor- mango or something or other, but the mayo was regular. The burger came out, with their imprint on the bun. The bun was very dry- at a burger place I usually expect the burger to be buttery. In my opinion, the burger was layered incorrectly, the cheese burger was on the top of the lettuce, tomato, and onion--- usually the garnish is on top of the meat. Anyways, I dressed it up with pickles (since that came on the side) added ketchup and mayo. I was extremely disappointed. The meat was flavorless and I could barely taste the cheese. I was not impressed, and probably would never come back. it seems like didnt even season the meat with Salt and Pepper. the basics! The fries- were actually delicious and crispy and the truffle toppings were awesome. Their homemade ketchup was also really good. You wont see me here again...too bad. I really wanted to like this place- but the good is not great. The atmosphere is kind of a buzzkill with it being in an office building and since no one is in the restaurant watching football- kinda of strange they have the volume cranked all the way up. Sorry MEAT. wish I liked you for an $11 meal.

Yelpers who like my off the beaten path finds, there is one hiding in, of all places, BOCA! M.E.A.T. Is located inside one of the most unusual office buildings I've ever seen. The big atrium lobby largely belongs to the restaurant, and even though you might take a look at the sprawl of tables and big screen TVs out there and go "What is this?" There is a method to the madness and the FOOD rocks here so it's worth the why. The mother ship is in Islamorada, Florida. The owner of this eclectic building lured the restaurant up to Boca, and while the space is unconventional, their eclectic blend of super fresh meat for their burgers, home cured bacon, house made pastrami and smoked pork and chicken, accompanied by great craft beers and wicked desserts definitely put this place on Elites' short list of cool new finds. I had the King Jelly which blended burger with house cured bacon, onion ring and, yes, banana with a spicy jelly. I probably lost the traditional McBurgerists with the last two items but this award-winning burger works because the sweet and the salty are a great balance. This place is a MUST TRY! Go with the different!

As you walk to the office building this place is located at and even as you see the SIGN announcing its presence, you think you've gone to the wrong place. Once inside, amazing food and a great beer selection await. The burgers I and my partner had were amazing, as was the great dessert. I'll definitely will be coming back.

Nice attempt at some sort of artisanal burger joint, but it falls flat on it's face. 1. It's located in a bank building, so you actually park and then walk into the main lobby before you eventually find your way to the back where the bar is. Then they have this random setup where you grab some loose paper and hope to find something you like. Then you order at the counter, and randomly go find a table in the main lobby of the building. 2. Service is mediocre at best. Whoever does the food/beverage ordering needs to learn to count. Out of hard root beer and you have to go get more wine? 3. How in the world did this place win any awards for its food? My turkey burger was ok, the ginger slaw was just completely overpowered with ginger. My mother's burger came out cold. My husband's chorizo burger came out raw. Their solution? They offered to "make him another one", which consisted of them taking half the burger, throwing it under the broiler, and bringing it back to the table. That's disgusting and borderline unsafe. Like I said, nice try, but we will definitely not be back.

I will never be accused of being a vegetarian! Therefore, if there's a restaurant called for MEAT known for it's burgers I will be checking it out. Located in the atrium of an office building in Boca, I heard about MEAT at a Burger Beast event I attended earlier this year. That it was less than 5 minutes from one of my job sites, and I could spritz on some Axe, get semi-civilized and have a good dinner. I ate at the bar, where the cashier was friendly and funny. Her and one of the other bartenders checked on me during my meal, which you know is important to me! No lunch for me that day, so I started off with their tomato soup. Creamy and with a sprinkle of powdered cheese over the top, it packed a little bit of heat and was a great intro into my meal. The original burger - aka Dr. Jelly - was a juicy, meaty patty dressed up with the noticeable sweet of blueberry and heat of chipotle jellies. The fried egg and skinny fries over the top added to the delicious mess. In my OCD ways, I had the fries first without touching the burger and the chipotle ketchup gave it a spicy kick. They also have a pretty good selection of beer, and a couple other burgers I want to check out . As I mentioned, the vibe is casual enough that I could walk in unless I was bathed in concrete, and the early aughts/ late 90's soundtrack made it a great spot to wind down at.

Let's start off by saying I'm a burger chic. I have tried almost every highly rated burger in So. Fla. I'm just gonna lay it out: Pasta Fagioli Soup- not pasta Fagioli, or close, came out cold, sent back The Famous Juicy Lucy- if there was 4oz of cooked meat I'd be surprised. It was overwhelmed by a giant bun. The bun was good. Overall just ok. Duck Fat Fries- awesome Fried Corn on Cobb- not bad, not worth $3.50 I do appreciate the homemade condiments. The spicy mustard was really good. Two girl on staff, one super friendly and helpful... The other didn't speak, made it awkward, just not comfortable. The place is good, didn't live up to the hype.

When Jennifer S. suggested we grab some dinner here after grabbing a few beers near by, I was in. It didn't hurt that yelling MEATTTT was pretty funny after a few beers, which only added to me being in. Luckily Jenn had been here before and was able to give me some directions and pointers, because this is a strange location. Located in the lobby of a Wells Fargo building, the location doesn't really scream dinner (or food at all), but Jenn assured me it wasn't a lunch only spot and it would suit our dinner needs. Park around back for the most convenient entrance. After walking in and seeing the place I still was pretty shocked. It definitely seems odd for a place with this ambiance to be located within a building's lobby, but I went with it. I have to admit that the counter seating worked out pretty well once the rest of the gang arrived, and we all started to fall in love with it's charm. At this point we had all pretty much quit drinking, but I was pretty impressed with their extensive beer list, as well as their wines. We spent some time looking over the menu and the specials list. I was also impressed with the wide variety of menu options. Lots of burgers which I was expecting, but also some great sounding soups and salads, and even lobster. The service here is what I'll call "half and half". Orders are placed at the counter, and paid at the counter, but drinks and food are brought out to you. Also, everything is done by a card system, so remember which card you had when you want to pay as that's how they'll look you up in the system. I was the 5 of Spades, clearly I'm more of a Queen of Diamonds girl lol, but the dealer wasn't on my side. I went with the Italian Sausage Burger with fries, which came with peppers and onions on it. One of the other burgers had a lime/cilantro aioli on it, so I asked for that with my burger. This came out on the side, which I ended up being thankful for, because I didn't like it! Who knew there was an aioli I didn't like! Mustard, ketchup and regular mayo were also brought out to the table and it turns out they make their own mustard and ketchup in house. I can't remember what the mustard was (nor did I try it) but I'm pretty sure the ketchup was a mango-something and it was a hit. Especially when mixed in with regular mayo (yes I'm a mayo girl lol). Ok, so the actual food. I totally forgot to mention I started off with the olive tapenade and crackers to start (free with Yelp check in!). This was so-so. A little salty and the crackers were a little strange to me. I did try Jenn's hummus though and this was pretty good. The burger itself was pretty damn good! Very spicy though and I left wondering if I actually had the chorizo burger accidentally. Another in the party was accidentally given the wrong burger, so this is entirely possible. I do wish I had room left for a bread pudding. The banana, nutella option sounded like heaven, but I just couldn't do it - I was stuffed. Looks like I need to come back! Towards the end of the dinner I was hovering somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4 for the "service". The owner(?) came over at the end and started talking to us, and you could tell how passionate she was about the business and it's success. She seemed to welcome all of our comments and take them to the heart. PS. I hope Marisol got some good shots of Glenn trying to fit his enormous burger in his mouth!

So the bar has the feel of a 1950s diner mixed with a 2015 craft taproom. Hard to explain, just need to experience it yourself. They have over a dozen craft brews on tap, along with bottled and canned beer. They also have some decent wines and micro brew sodas. There is a good selection of burgers on the menu. The Inside Out Juicy Lucy Burger was very tasty and accompanied with truffle parmesan fries. Another good choice is the Carolina pulled pork sandwich with duck fat fries. Definitely will come back to try other menu choices, both food & liquid.

Very good food and service. I had the shrimp tacos today, which were pretty delicious. Danni was super friendly and nice. The rest of the staff which helped us during lunch was pretty awesome too.

We all were underwhelmed with this place. A group of us from work choose a new place to eat at every week and we picked this one 2 Wednesday's ago. It's like our own version of supper club just at lunchtime. Our group can vary from 7 to 13 people on any given Wednesday, and one of my co-workers has already completed a Yelp review of this place... he beat me to it! I found it to be over-priced and the portions sizes small. I wish I would've gotten the truffle fries...my fries were boring and I had fry envy when others' in our group got theirs. You go up to the cash register and order, then sit down at their group counter that over looks a TV and the doors to the Restrooms (WTH?) or you can grab a lobby seat / table and eat there. At one point, after we ordered, there were 12 people in line to order...so this place DOES get busy. Our food came out in waves which was fine, bu the funniest part was the 2 people that ordered soup and another item (no hamburgers AKA MEAT) got theirs dead last. My burger was undercooked and my friends was overcooked, had I not had onions on mine (something she can't eat) we would've definitely switched burgers. Mine was still moo'ing to the point that co-workers joked that I could use the blood instead of ketchup (GAG). I'm sure this place is AWESOME for the people that work in that building, but for us it was meh. In fact, we tried the Boca Burger House last Wednesday and found that to be much better.

We were shocked at how small it was but pleasantly surprised with the extra seating outside of the restaurant. They have a nice bar top seating inside the place & tons of great beers on draft! We ordered @ the counter & sat down; food was delivered to our table as well as refills, so we never had to get up which was nice! The crispy onion rings were amazing! Crunchy and tangy with a sizzling dipping sauce. Our burgers were stacked and the patties were so good, I'm sure eating just the patty and bun would have been satisfying! HOMEMADE ketchup and mustard - delish! The menu offered a few dessert options but we were so stuffed we couldn't imagine eating anymore. Very satisfying & worth the 30min drive from Parkland to Boca!!

Great little spot to eat. Restaurant is hidden in a bank. I took their suggestion and ordered the juicy Lucy. Beer cheese soup was so good. get the free hummus if you show them the Yelp coupon. . Burger was cooked to perfection the truffle Parmesan cheese fries were a meal on their own. homemade hummus was really tasty. Can't say enough about this place. Owner chef was there and talked to us. Very nice people. I wish Saberite pig would take lessons from these people.

I popped in during happy hour with limited time and dinero. I was very pleased! I have been to the original to purchase a pound of their house bacon but have never eaten at either. I selected two sliders which are $3 each during HH and also added an order of duck fat fries (zomg yes) and enjoyed two magic hat beers that were special priced at $3. It's kinda strange that happy hours beers are $2 colors or a rotating can special that they pour out f the can into a plastic cup (the environment weeps) my bill was $15 and that is amazing. I tipped up and was on my way. Def hope to return with Mr. R

By far, the best lunch we've had, outside of flying to New Orleans. The lamb burger was juicy & perfectly seasoned. My husband had the Juicy Lucy. He, the strongest critic of poorly cooked & seasoned meat, says it was the best burger. The duck fat fries are amazing & the fried corn on the cob is crazy good. The fact that they have Abita root beer and Turbo Dog on tap is a bonus. Can't wait to go back.

  • Craig W.

I had the fried corn on the cob & the inside out juicy Lucy burger w/truffle fries...amazing. Everything about my meal all of the way down to the condiments (mustard w/wasabi & ketchup w/mango & ginger) was perfect. I've never had a burger this damn good! They have a great selection of crafts beer both draft & bottled. Unique location in an office building with seating in the atrium of the building & countertop seating in the restaurant. I found out they recently won 1st prize in the boca burger battle & I can see why. This place is definitely going on my list of favorites!

A for effort. But that's about it. Small place. The location doesn't bother me all that much. But the burgers left much to be desired. For the price I find much better value in other places.

Great Burgers and Fries. Really good Beers. Service somewhat Slow. Plastic Utensils slightly lame. Atmosphere fair. In the lobby of small Office Building. I would eat there again.

3.5 After reading the Yelp reviews of this less than one month old restaurant and curious about its odd location, I ventured forth to check it out around 6:30. M.E.A.T. = Meat Eatery & Tap Room, their first location is in Islamorada. LOCATION: it's in the Wells Fargo Bank Building on the east side of Federal Highway, just south of Glades. Signage is there, but it's easy to miss it, especially the turn in off of Federal to the parking lot. One reason for my rating is how the place is set up, and how it impacts the (my) dining experience. More than half of the seating is in the LOBBY of the office building. While they have nice comfy booths and tables, sleek decor, it's STILL IN THE LOBBY! Bright lights, no music, no TV, atrium ceiling, it's a bit cold. The rest of the seating, about 8 stools around the bar and another area (14 stools?) that is sort of a counter top where half of the seats are in the restaurant and the others face it and you're in the lobby. The space inside is tight. It just seem DISJOINTED to me, and I understood they were working with the layout they had. They are open weekdays for breakfast from 8-10:30, and lunch/dinner from 11am-9:30pm. Saturday and Sunday noon - 9:30pm. I assume they are seeking to attract the employees of the office building in which they are located, as well as surrounding office buildings and will do an active take-out business. MENU: soups, salads, starters, BURGERS, PULLED PORK AND SMOKED MEATS, with lots of "pile it on" additions. Their thing is they make a lot of their food on site, like ketchup, mustard, pork rinds, case their own sausages, hand press the burgers. ALCOHOL: about 30 BEERS either on tap, bottle or can. About 12 WINE selections including organic. Micro brewed sodas. We had 20 oz Floridian on tap at $7.95. No Happy Hour Pricing. I had the Nancy pants (hate that name!) 5 oz burger ($10) with Swiss cheese, Den had PULLED CHICKEN SANDWICH ($10) Both came with fries, were real good, but I realized when I got the check the "substitution" of Swiss cheese for American was an up-charge, so it really wasn't a "substitution". Not a big deal, but waitress should have said that when I asked her specifically if I could "substitute". We started with the TRUFFLED BISTRO FRIES, which were good, but not great, and at $7.50, should have been a larger portion, and more truffle oil. [When waitress asked me what I thought and I told her, she smiled and said "oh no, that's a good sized portion", and I had to reply "you asked me for an opinion, I answered you honestly, did you really want to know?" and she then gave me a comment card to complete]. Hmm. Check was $63. before tip for the above food, and of course, the 4 beers represented half of that. While I thought the food was good, the ambience left me blah, lack of Happy Hour, which is common in most places in East Boca, made it pricier than was warranted. And, we didn't do any PILE IT ON stuff, like bacon ($1), slice of onion (.50) , mushrooms (.85), fried egg (.75). So, I'm not running back, but wish them well, I think they will have a niche with the office crowd and hope there will be enough evening patrons who don't think it's pricey and don't mind the disjointed seating set-up.

Was in town for a work weekend & didn't want to spend $30 on a burger @ hotel....so glad I tried this place. Burger was juicy & had great flavor. Owner was very hospitable & helped me make menu choices. Beer selection was great too. Ambience was nice & you have the option of sitting in the building atrium if the restaurant area is too loud/crowded. Would definitely go back on my next visit to Boca.

Was not sure what I was walking into because it was tucked away in a commercial building. A pleasant surprise to find a cool little bar with lots of brews to choose from and an inside outside sitting area. The menu had so many things worth trying. I decided to ask Jess our lovely server. She suggested the Inside Out Juicy Lucy, voted best burger in Florida. I topped it with a fried egg. The sweet and spicy homemade pickles and the tapenade, homemade as well both delicious. I will certainly return because the specialty shakes, microbrew sodas and desserts also look like something right up my alley. I recommend giving this place a shot.

This place is great. At first you will think that the location is odd but it is comfortable and the service is good. They have ALOT of craft beers both in the bottle and on draft. I had the Southern Pulled Pork and it was great. This is some of the best pulled pork I've had hands down. I've eaten at EVERY BBQ place in the area and this pulled pork wins the prize. The portion was huge too. The only thing that was strange is there was no BBQ sauce but the pork was so good I didn't need it.

Awesome Burgers!!! So unassuming... unless you look on yelp, google, or have a friend tell you about the place, you'd probably never see it. It's located in the The Cendyn/wells Fargo building.

A friend recommended this place and we absolutely loved it. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable about the vast beer taps and selections as well as made great food recommendations . Will definitively return to this eatery and taproom with more friends to enjoy it with.

It was strange because it is literally inside a bank building. You miss it if you aren't looking. Also, You have to stand at the counter to order. I was expecting better service. Food was good. Had the pork pot stickers, which were really good, the inside out juicy Lucy burger which was ok, and the nancy pants with bacon and a fried egg, which again was ok. Overall, an ok experience.

I'm not sure which was better- the customer service or the food! We had a large party, and M.E.A.T accommodated us quickly. The burgers are fat and fresh, the duck fat fries are to die for! They make their own sodas, sauces and pickles. I'm hoping for a chance to eat their food again! (So, please expand)

I love meat. And potatoes. And beer. So this is pretty much heaven! The staff was super helpful with beer tasting and description of the amazing meats. I'm pretty sure every single thing is made by one dude. He is the king of meat. A little on the pricey side if you're expecting run of the mill burger and fries, but the saying you get what you pay for definitely fits this joint. Speaking of fries, these were the best consistency EVER!!! Crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked and seasoned, and ours were topped with house made bacon and made to order cheese sauce. Wayyyyy too much food but we gave it the old college try!!! We will definitely come back!!!

This place is super yummy and makes a nice burger. First, this is the strangest location. It's within an office building, and some of their seating shares space with where the office workers eat their lunch. It's really weird to come to during lunch, especially if you wanna get away from the office atmosphere because, well, you're back in it. They have bar seating as well that is a little better. The sides are delicious. We got the duck fat fries and an order of onion straws and they were both amazing. I would come back for both of those alone. The onion straws were well seasoned, crispy, and came with a pretty yummy beer cheese sauce. The fries were crisp, cooked perfectly, and a great companion to a burger. We split an inside out juicy lucy. It was pretty well seasoned meat - it had a lot of flavor and the pimento cheese was just delicious. There were some tough bits, but overall, a very good burger. It's not my favorite burger place, but I really love the sides, and I could see stopping by for some onion straws and a local beer (they have many on draft) quite often.

Food: 4 Star Atmosphere: 3 Star Total: 3.5 Star This was my first time eating at M.E.A.T since they opened in boca, and I will definitely be back. Although the location and layout, in the lobby of a business/bank complex, is quite awkward the food was very good. I went for a quick lunch and was unable to sample any of their draft selections, but some looked quite tasty. All of their sodas are made fresh to order, and the condiments are made in house as well. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and the wifey had a burger. The burger was juicy with a good flavor and the sauce on the pulled pork had a nice spice. Both were a good portion and the fries were A++, the house made ketchup is amazing!!

Loved this place since it opened. Food is always so delicious. Not only did I order all of my 4th of July grilling makings including italian sausage, chorizo, burgers and bacon, I LOVE their happy hour. Everyone is so nice and inviting. Banana Bread Ale and Vanilla milkshakes, duck fat french fries. Come on, do I even need to say more? Well, if I do, don't let the name fool you. My BFF is a vegetarian and is also in love. Kale Cesar Salad and veggie burger, on point. 5 Stars all the way.

First time guest has the inside out just Lucy and Truffle fries. Burger was cooked to perfection. The homemade mango Chipotle catsup was delicious. Personally I would prefer traditional service rather then order at at the counter and sit in the atrium to be served.

This is the second location for M.E.A.T. For those in the know, they are a great little pit stop on your way to Key West or a definitive visit while staying in Islamorada. As fans of the original, we were really excited to hear of their northern location. First of the all, the location is.....unique. It seems the owner of the office building and CEO of local digital marketing firm Cendyn had this great idea to bring M.E.A.T. north....into Boca....into his office building.....where a sandwich shoppe used to be. While I am sure this is perfect for the lunch crowd, it's downright awkward for the Saturday night dinner crowd with friends in tow. Thank goodness for good friends who can roll with the punches. It's like having dinner in the lobby of a Wells Fargo. Strange. Surreal. I felt like we were hallucinating. Now the food is great - just as good as the original. The staff is wonderful. They are personable and helpful and very tongue in cheek about the locale. Have the chorizo and sirloin burger. Loved the maine lobster roll. Great selection of beers. I'll stick to lunch next time. The atmosphere is probably much better. The food is great. Come for that. Don't get hung up on the set-up. Oh! And, remember, you can hang out with the poor saps from Cendyn who are on the Saturday night shift. Lucky for them there's some good grub and a beer waiting in the lobby. Come to think of it...they should have called it Lobby.

This is a true hidden gem in East Boca. Keep your eyes open for the sign out front and make your way into this place. Now the 2nd location (Islamorada) M.E.A.T has brought the amazing quality a bit further north. They case their own sausage. Make their own ketchup. Brine their own pickles. And of course, brand the bun! The location may be small is size but it truly packs a flavorful punch. I tried to Wisconsin Beer Cheese Soup ($5)- topped with crunchy "house-smoked" bacon. This soup was not overly cheesy. it almost looked like a spicy deli mustard but went down real smooth. Then followed that up with a Chorizo Patty (8.50). This was spicy! Loved it. You can "pile on" any toppings you like. So its a bit a draw back to pay for onions, lettuce, etc... but the focus is the meat. For a burger enthusiast, its all about the meat & M.E.A.T does just that... Lastly, we were talked into a Banana Ale / Nutella Ice Cream Smoothie - The Dirty Banana. AMAZING! Not to mention they have a very solid selection of local craft beers on tap and in bottles.... FIND THIS PLACE! Prices range from: - $8.50 - $13 for burgers - $8.50 - $11 for sausages / pulled sandwiches - $4 - $5 for "fun items" (Sweet tots, onions rings, fried corn on the cob, etc...) Oh yeah, they are open for breakfast 8am on weekdays. ($9 - $12)

Big disappointment. Looked forward to an award-winning burger yet they were out of beef at 1 pm on a Monday! Ordered the lobster roll instead, which was fine but not what i'd really wanted. Service was earnest but also not quite ready for prime time. Companion ordered a dip plate (hummus and tapenade); was asked if it could be served as an appetizer. Sure! But it didn't arrive until well after the (substitute) lobster roll... after we asked about it. When hostess came out and asked (much later) if everything was fine, I expressed disappointment about the lack of burgers. She said she was sorry but they had 'em now. (Not really what I wanted to hear.) Nice selection of beers and interesting concept but execution needs work; perhaps some adult supervision.

Large tap and bottle list. Staff friendly and good solid food. What else can you ask for? Had the reissdorf kolsh and the caramel cream ale. Don't be afraid to ask for a beer taster before you get an entire pint. The truffle fries are tasty and large portion to boot. The duck tortillas were bouncing with flavor Nd the chicken soup was hearty and on point. Going to order a milk shake to go. And if you want a milk shake while you are in a restaurant get a BEER float! Can't wait to come back

It's a resto with counters and lobby seating inside an office building. The menu was written well so we were really looking forward to our meal. But sadly, my kale caesar was way over dressed. The sesame edamame was soaked in too much vinegar. My truffle fries were actually tasteless. The lobster sandwich sounds better in the description. Lobster patty was hard and not moist. The ribs were subpar. Sorry MEAT. The 2 stars are for service and beer choices.

House made pork rinds, on point warm and crispy. Great prices. I'll be back. There's lots more that I want to try.

Don't get the hype. Slow service but at least they're nice people. Chorizo with my burger was messy and frankly not tasty. Only the fries had flavor. I expected more since the reviews were positive but my 2 other guests were equally unimpressed. Took almost 1 hour to receive our food and it wasn't very crowded. I'll stick with Burger-Fi or Shake Shack. Sorry.

I went for happy hour on a Sunday, not many people there at all but that didn't scare me away.. My husband and I wanted to try a few of the items and we did.. Hummus and toasted pita chips very good, all 4 mini sliders (my faves chorizo and pulled chicken), and the smoked wings. My hubby thought the wings were dry but I liked them, I always like a wing well done.. I wasn't crazy about the beers on tap but I am super picky when it comes to a beer. Overall I thought the place was cool and I'd go back!

Food = Good, not amazing Service = Definitely not enthusiastic, but I didn't want for anything; plus, if you're a tap room, you should know some basics about your product Ambiance = Odd, it's in an office building...and most of the tables are in the lobby/atrium Overall = Just average. Probably won't be back.

Odd location (as has been mentioned in other reviews). I'm not sure if it's due to the building they're in and their ventilation standards or what, but instead of smelling like burgers being grilled or, hell, fries in the fryer, it smelled like a wiped-down cafeteria. Not particularly appetizing. We came here because the Juicy Lucy was on Yahoo as one of the best burgers in the nation, so maybe I walked in with too high of expectations. The guy behind the counter was super nice, even tried to steer me away from the truffle fries and toward the sweet potato tots, but in my stubborness I didn't listen. Wish I had. The fries were covered in herbs, which I wasn't expecting, and whatever they used (rosemary? oregano?) it did not go well with the other flavors, in my opinion. The burger was cooked just fine on the inside, but the outside was past charred and coming into burnt territory. Not even sure how they did it, but they did. Nice and cheesy and huge, though. Also had a hair in my burger. I understand. It happens sometimes. But when the chef came out with no hat or head covering, and then someone with quite a beard and a luscious head of hair walked into the back with no hat or anything to catch any errant strands, it kind of turned my stomach and really made the whole experience underwhelming. I may or may not return and give the place another chance. They had a nice selection of beer and my boyfriend liked his meal (same thing with regular fries) well enough. The menu looked pretty interesting. We'll see.

Don't let the odd location throw you off, the food is great. We all ordered burgers (Nancy Pants and the Juicy Lucy) with the house duck fat fries (cannot be healthy, LOL). Good selection of on tap beers as well. Give it a shot, you'll be glad you did.

Went here for the first time and the burgers are amazing. Juicy Lucy and the House burger with bacon and fried egg on point. The lobster mac and cheese not so great as it was swimming in cheese and it was a small portion for what you pay for. Service is great though and lots of space to eat. We will be back for sure.

Had a wonderful meal consisting of some amazing burgers. The juicy Lucy with pimento cheese is on point, they house smoke their own bacon and pickle their own jalapeños to round out the meal beautifully.

This place was amazing. Amazing beer selection (had the Floridian from funky Buddha) and the hamburger was cooked perfectly. I will certainly be back. For right now, it was easy to walk in and sit down and get a seat. I'm sure once everyone finds this place it will be anything but quiet. Love the food, atmosphere and employees!! We will be back!!!!

Excellent food! The atmosphere is... unique, as it is housed in a Well's Fargo building, but the dining area is quite nice and there's ample seating at the bar or another counter directly behind it. The real star, however, is the food! They boast their own smoker (just out back) and every dish I've tried the two times I've been there has been excellent. Went for lunch the first time and my good friends and I all ordered something different so we could sample (three different dishes and three different sides). I had their Reuben (on the specials menu for that day) and it was far from your boring, everyday sandwich! Packed high and everything was made to order. Also had the onion crisps which were out of this world. Unlike your typical onion rings which are mostly batter. One of my friends had a burger which was also on the specials menu (and the name of which I do not recall), but it was outstanding! Filling, cooked just right, with thick cut bacon. He also got the duck fat fries as a side which were amazing. My other friend ordered the lobster roll (yes, they also have lobster rolls!) and, I'm no authority on the subject, but her husband is from Boston and they've both eaten real New England lobster rolls and said this was as good as the real thing. I believe it because the taste was spectacular. On another occasion, I tried the pulled pork sandwich (another winner!) and the chorizo burger, which was a very, very pleasant surprise! Not overly spicy, featuring a delicious green sauce. Highly recommended. Also had the lobster mac & cheese, which I was skeptical about until I tried it, and I wish I had had two more order of it! Finally, I ate at their stand at the Bacon festival in Ft. Lauderdale recently, where they were serving a bacon bread pudding (sounds strange at first), and that was above and beyond what I could have expected. Not too sweet and the flavors really worked well together. Not sure whether this is on their regular menu, but just another example of their King Midas touch! Their beer selection is also very nice. You can sample the beers on tap and they have a good variety. Some great bottled beers as well. I really hope M.E.A.T. does well. We have a nasty habit of staying away from cool, unique places in Boca in favor of the same old, drab, typical fare. I really hope that doesn't happen with this place. Do yourself a favor and try them out!

Not a big food blogger but had to join yelp just to review this place! George and Tom (owners) have done a great job opening this place up. Boca was in desperate need of a simple yet unique place to grab a quick bite and have a delicious beer and these guys didn't let us down. From the smoked meats to the awesome beer selection m.e.a.t is just a great place to enjoy yourself. Richie the bartender was easy going and incredibly humble. I made a mistake with my order and he was happy to fix it. Make sure to grab an order of parmesan truffle fries and some sweet corn. I'll definitely be back to sample all the great food and drinks and enjoy the fantastic service!

My wife and I were looking for something different and she was craving a lobster roll. Plus they had Kolsch (German beer) on tap. I had the pulled pork, very good. My brother had a burger he raved about. As for my wife's lobster roll, it was $24.50 and I do not feel it was worth it. The truffle fries were too loaded with cheese and seasoning. The plain ones were way better. We'll go back and stick to the basics when ordering next time. Definitely worth a try!

After reading all the hype on this new Boca spot, I was excited to check it out, but looking back on it I wasn't incredibly impressed. Maybe it's because my expectations were set high, but there are much better places in Boca that I could spend my Friday dinner at. I had already read that the location was different, but I don't think any one truly stated how awkward the setting is. As others mentioned, you walk into the very tiny 'restaurant' and order your meal from one side of the bar, then you find a seat and the servers bring your food out to you. The inside bar area was full so we opted for one of the loungey booths. While the booths would have been perfect for napping on, the seats were too far away from the table and too low, I needed a booster seat. What also threw us off about the seating is that, because it's a lobby, the lights were super bring, there was no music, and there were cleaners vacuuming around us. We felt very disconnected from the restaurant and like we were in the way of the cleaning crew. Aside from the weird location, the food was pretty good! I loaded up the Nancy burger and it was divine! The truffle fries weren't worth the upgrade. They weren't very truffle-y (just a bunch of parmesan cheese poured over fries). Also, while they had about 10 craft beers on draft, they didn't have any cider - Boo! Overall, this might be a nice and easy take out place with great burgers, but not somewhere I want to spend a meal out!

We have been several times to M,E.A.T. and keep going back for more. Usually sit at the bar but last at a table with friends. That was great not hurried along able to sit and enjoy the food and friends. The set up grows on you. Now the food is outstanding if you want a great burger the Juicy Lucy is it! The fries and onion straws are excellent we have never been disappointed at M.E.A.T. . The staff are always welcoming and the service good.

Plenty of parking because when we arrived the office building had pretty much cleared out. Tables are in the atrium of the building and the bar is in its own space. Order at the bar and server will bring drink and food to you. Booths not comfortable (benches too far from table) so we moved to table and chairs. Large selection of beer and short selection of wine. Asian turkey burger first came out undercooked. Cold center then was cheerfully replaced with a properly cooked one. Not bad. Freshly formed. Friend had pulled pork and loved it. Split a the banana bread pudding special which was through the roof good. Servers were fantastic.

Very cool place and great concept. It's in a business building though and I was kind of under the impression that the place was a full seating restaurant. There is only bar seating and high top long table seating. Who cares though, food is amazing I would eat it in an piss dirty alley. My burger the "House Burger" was cooked to perfection. I got it with the sweet and spicy pickles and the pickled jalapenos. YUM. Coleslaw was light and crisp not drowning in mayo. And man they make their own mango chipotle ketchup and caraway beer mustard. I wish they sold that shit at Publix. Was tempted to steal it but then realized that that would mean I wouldn't be able to come back, being forced to get my burgers from Wendy's down the street. Meh. Service was great and friendly. Our bartender/server was helpful friendly and not overbearing. They also smoke their own meats out back. Can't wait to try their pulled meat when I go back. Highly recommend and also can't wait to try chef George Patti's other restaurant SALT fusion in Islamorada!

The location of this place threw me off a little bit as it is located in the lobby of an office building. I ordered the beer cheese soup, which was alright, but nothing compared to Big Bear's beer cheese soup. I also ordered the eggplant caviar that came with carrots and celery. The eggplant was not the best choice as it was extremely bland and was lacking some major flavor (and salt). Everyone I went with ordered burger (obviously I should have went that route) and they seemed pretty pleased with them. They looked really good and the option of fries looked and tasted really good as well. I would go back to this place, but would have to get a burger next time. It's a pretty nice spot for lunch, but seating can be a pain as there is only a choice of bar stools or an option to grab a table in the lobby of the office building (which is a little strange to me).

I don't understand???? The kid behind the counter was nice and the beer was cold but that's about it. Nothing impressive about the burger. The house salad for $10 was a total joke! Not even a handful of greens. $45 for 2 beers a burger and a joke of a salad. Won't be back sorry.

5+ for food! Bold flavors to the extreme, homemade bacon and duck sausage to die for. Their juicy Lucy IS the best burger around. Nice craft beers on tap. It's a casual bar/counter and some tables outside the bar, but still inside, located in lobby of an office building. For table cloths, and even silverware, go elsewhere. For deliciously crafted nom-noms, go here. I'm ordering back to back lunches, even if I don't save room for bacon-peanut butter bread pudding.

Really tasty food items and awesome beers justify a return visit. Our selections included Pork rinds w/ chimichurri sauce, amazing nachos, and award winning pulled pork sanny with an outstanding barbecue sauce. M.E.A.T. offers a compelling foodie option in the same vicinity as the usual suspect chains on US1 and the Oh So Boca Mizner joints. Previously we had their wonderful chorizo sliders at the Boca Burger Fest, too.

Stopped by for lunch on a Thursday around 1pm. There was a short line of about 8 people in front of me, but the line moved quickly. I ordered the Inside-out Juicy Lucy Burger cooked medium rare. It comes with fries or cole slaw and I opted for the fries. I sat at the bar right by the kitchen door waiting for my burger. Their system seems a bit confusing... They give you a card from a deck of cards (like the king of diamonds) and that's how they find you when your order is ready. Only the cashier doesn't seem to tell anybody what the card is for, and that might be why I saw so much confusion. I witnessed them making the same orders twice (including my order)... Not sure why this happened, but what a huge waste of food and money! My burger was really good!! Cooked perfectly. And the fries were delicious! They give you homemade ketchup, which is tasty, but I think I would have just preferred Heinz ketchup... And homemade mustard, which was super-spicy. I would definitely go back again. The service was very friendly, only they all seemed to be confused about the orders. And since I was sitting right next to where the servers walk out of the kitchen, I was able to watch at least 3 customers walk up to the kitchen to complain about their orders. I think they just need to work on their system, but the food was really good!

Despite it's weird location, we felt this place could have potential. We went on Sunday around 5pm and the place was pretty much empty. We looked over the menu and there were a few items that looked special, the duck fat fried french fries, the Cow & Pig Burger. We ended up getting a basic bacon cheeseburger, and one of their specials; A burger w/ chorizo mac and cheese, sautéed onions and honey chipotle BBQ. I'm not a BBQ fan so I asked to keep that off. We both asked for our burgers to be cooked medium. Our sides were fries and coleslaw. Sadly, those were the best items we had. Both of our burgers were cooked med well/well and were dry and bland despite the toppings. The fries may have been the winner, they were seasoned pretty well (lil too much salt but not unbearable). Overall it wasn't the worst meal ever, but for 2 burgers, a Root Beer and Ice tea that totaled $41 (before tip) that was subpar it's not somewhere we're likely to return to.

This place is a hidden gem. It's in a bank building so anyone looking for a stand alone restaurant might miss it. The food is amazing. We had the smoked wings and the juicy Lucy burger. You can't go wrong with smoked meat. Good stuff! We will definitely be back,

Last Saturday we ventured into an East Boca office building with the kids and another couple and their kids. We had no expectations but we wanted to see what this place MEAT was all about. While the location is odd, but a brilliant business decision, it is worth stopping in. Great good, knowledgeable staff and solid draft list. It is a welcome addition to the thriving Boca gastro food scene. The sweet tots are worth the visit alone.

It's a sad day for this Boca foodie/burger aficionado. After reading about M.E.A.T.'s (that's annoying to type!) debut in Boca a few months before its opening, reading rave reviews from its original location in the Keys, and my friends praising the food, I was very excited to say the least. I was forewarned about the awkward location for a restaurant. While the ambience/atmosphere is important, I really don't care where I'm eating - as long as the food is WOW. With that said, I wouldn't come here with someone I'm trying to impress or on a first date. The staff were polite but not too friendly. Just indifferent. Nice beer selection. I ordered the wagyu 8 oz. burger ($19). A bit steep on the pocket, but it is wagyu. Still overpriced for what it is. $1 extra for the fried egg and bacon. Burger comes with fries. $2.50 upcharge for truffled or onion strings. Friend did one up charge and I did the other. The fries were good but they were hardly truffled. What a JOKE. The onion strings were boring - very little onion and overcooked. Now the name of this place is MEAT...you would think they know how to properly cook the meat. You know, to the correct temperature at which the customer ordered it. My M came MW...even pushing W. I'm not a complainer. I promise. I'm not nitpicky. And yes, I know the difference between the various meat temperature preparations. Medium should be served with a nice pink center, slightly charred on the edges, and delicious juices flowing throughout, especially on a high-quality patty like wagyu. This was none of that. It was a depressing hocey puck with little flavor, way overcooked, and even salty edges. The bun was good and that was it. Love the branded touch. Sadly that branding doesn't stand for much. I just wish this burger was properly cooked. It would have made all the difference in this review. Waitress comes over once we were finished to ask how everything was. My honest response, "okay, but the burger was way overcooked...definitely not the medium that I ordered", was met with a blank stare of indifference. What's the purpose of asking if you're not even going to apologize or offer something to make up for it. Very unimpressed. I wanted to like this place, but I'm not running back anytime soon - if at all.

  • Alex G.

Expected too much. Above average burger that was way overpriced. Add to that some gimmicky ketchup, no other ketchup available. All in all not justifying the cost or a return visit.

    (3)
  • Chip S.

Excellent, good quality beer selection. Great burgers and appetizers. The setting is interesting, as it is not a formal restaurant type environment, but it seems to be a main lobby for a bank, with tables. However the setup does not take away from its appeal, as I really enjoyed both food and drinks.
